On August 31st, 2005, the first and only legal migrant children middle school, Dandelion Middle School, held the opening ceremony. Dandelion Middle School is located in Shoubao Village, Xihongmen, Daxing, Beijing.

Headmaster Zheng Hong introduced some basic information about school. She said the principle of school is to teach kids how to be a good person during teaching, and then make the society better through teaching students. She also told the journalists the meaning of school's name. She said dandelion is a very beautiful and strong will plant. Like migrant children, its seeds travel to everywhere. No matter where the dandelion falls, it grows up to be a beautiful flower.

Dandelion Middle School occupied three thousands meter square with twenty-one classrooms. It also has labs for computer science, physics, chemistry, and biology. Most of the money to build the school is from donation. There is a stage in front of the main building, which is made of cupper and has name of different donators. Mrs. Zheng said it is the start of the school. The students should remember and thank for all they have now everyday. At the same time, she hope more and more people and the society can take care of those migrant workers' children and help them.
