Dandelion School was holding an opening ceremony on May 25th, 2006. Zheng Mojie, vice president of Daxing, Li Da, administrator of Daxing Education Office, Sun Yong, vice administrator of Daxing Education Office, and other officers of Daxing government came to the opening ceremony.
Now, there are ten migrant children schools in Daxing, and nine of them are elementary schools. Dandelion School is the first non-profit middle school, which has been examined and accepted by government in Beijing. Dandelion School is a school operated by social donation. Up to now, there are one million and one hundred thousand donation from a lot of companies and individuals. There are twenty-three teachers and one hundred and ninety-seven students in school. Even though those students come from seventeen provinces, they are all migrant workers' children. Dandelion School occupies three thousands meters squares, which including twenty classrooms. The school has standard labs for physics, chemistry, and biology. It also has a computer lab, a musical room, a drawing room, and a library. Dandelion has been trying hard to improve the environment for the students.

In the opening ceremony, Headmaster, Zheng Hone, first gave a speech. She thanked for the supporting by the government, companies, and volunteers from the society. Later, a parents' representative and a student representative gave speech. Sun Yong gave a speech, too. He first congratulated school's opening, then he required school to apply every policy of government in the future. He emphasized that school should continue to improve school's environment, strengthen students' administrating, enhance teachers' techniques. The school also should try its best to be a model school. At the same time, he hoped the students cherish their chances to be in the school, and he wished them to work hard, grow healthy, and improve themselves in order to make contributions to our country in the future.

.The students and the teachers showed some performance in the opening ceremony. Comany Yicheng donated one hundred thousand RMB and Beautiful Home Magazine donated twenty two thousands five hundreds.
