On September 1st, 2005, Dandelion Middle School had their first opening school ceremony. The first class was taught by Doctor Xu Haoyuan about knowledge of teenager girls and boys.

Headmaster Zheng Hong did research for Kennedy Government School in Harvard University before. She said Dandelion Middle School is the first legal middle school for migrant children in China. The school are made of one hundred and eighty students.

Doctor Xu Haoyuan taught the first class and the topic was love and friendship. During the class, students learned a lot about how to get on well with boys or girls. At the beginning of the class, they were very shy until one girl said they were ashamed to answer questions from Doctor Xu Haoyuan.

After the class, Doctor Xu Haoyuan said these students are more natural minded and honest compared with students in the city. She said she hoped she can give class to the students twice a month in the future.
