World Education is a USA-based, private and nonprofit organization. Through various educational, economic and social development programs, World Education has improved the lives of the poor and disadvantaged and provided capacity building trainings in more than 50 countries since 1953. In China, our goal is to meet the specific needs of vulnerable youth, especially children of migrant workers and their families by providing quality education and technical support, to better equip them for safe migration, improve their livelihoods, assist the growth and development of their self-esteem and personality in order to adapt to the rapidly changing society.

    • Creating increased relevance of curriculum to the every day needs of vulnerable youth who are migrants or who at risk of migrating;
    • Adapting innovative teaching methods to accommodate a more holistic approach to preparing vulnerable youth for life;
    • Providing a more youth-friendly learning environment that provides mentoring and peer support to vulnerable youth;
    • Increasing parental involvement in decision making about their children's education; and

Target Groups

World Education's Approach

Go to the people, live among them, learn from them.
Start with what they know, building on what they have.
And of the best leaders, when their task is done,
their work completed, the people will say,
"We have done it ourselves."
