To help Dandelion teachers have better empathic
skills and able to "put themselves in students'
shoes", in the "Labeling Game"
activity, each teacher had a tag with a judgmental
word written on it tied to their foreheads.
It provided teachers the first hand experience
of students' emotional changes if labeled and

Cambodia Study
Tour
World Education
In
early February 2007, six delegates from Dandelion
School paid a visit to Cambodia learning the
first hand experience of life skills education
and vocational training programs that have been
implemented by World Education/Cambodia staff.
The Dandelion delegates were amazed by the outstanding
and precious education examples they found in
this remote and developing country. The vivid
discussions among teachers and students in the
classrooms, how the Child-Friendly School offers
respect, love and caring to students to bring
out their full potentials, the way students
of peer support groups interact with each other,
and the dedication that Cambodia people (Khmer)
have shown in pursuing life skills and vocational
skills to improve their livelihoods say more
than words. The friendship, the life experience
and lessons learned would definitely assist
and encourage Dandelion School to move forward
and reach out further to its goal.
